Always delicious but I ended up with vegetarian egg rolls. Not that I didn't eat them cause they were also fabulous.
Stopped in hoping to be able to take out dinner in 15 minutes but that turned into more than an hour. The place was empty except for two couples finishing up their meals so it wasn't busy. It was a Wednesday night. Placed order for two dinners and an hour later that hadn't even started them. There's only two people working, husband and wife and they seem to take a lot of delivery orders. Cost was $35 for two people which is VERY high for a Vietnamese restaurant in a college town. There was no apology for the wait. Good was good but not great and portions weren't worth the price.
I've gone by the restaurant and never paid attention to it. I ended up going with a friend and I will definitely come back again. What caught my eye the most was all the art hanging on the walls and finding out that the woman who works there created it all.
Love this restaurant! Great pho and fried rice. The cream cheese wontons are literally the best I've ever had. Gets busy at peak times, but that's never really been a problem for me. I'm super impressed that there seems to be only 2 people working there and they manage to keep up with rushes really well.
We have sampled spring rolls around the Twin Cities and elsewhere. Kiet and Camdi's are decidely the BEST!!!
Consistently delicious. Great flavor development at a reasonable price point. Owner is very kind. Give them a shot- you won't be disappointed.
My favorite Asian/Vietnamese family run comfort food hole in the wall in Minneapolis. Great art on the walls from owners family as well. Pho and Bun bo hue are very good. Vietnamese coffee always good. Very small and basic setting.
The first time I came here the Pho was everything I wanted and more!! I craved it like crazy. When I came back I hyped up the food to my friends and they did not like what they ordered. Pad Thai noodles were mushy and honestly way too spicy for the dish(and I love thai spicy). Though it is a cute family owned restaurant, they could really use more staff. Two people running the whole place gets slow.
Super friendly service! I ordered the vermicelli salad (bun) and wanted pork and egg roll, and he helped me save a couple bucks by ringing it in as pork with a half order of egg roll on the side. The pork is so yummy too! Really flavorful sweet/spice. Only waited about 5 minutes for this lovely bowl. Love the atmosphere.
Camdi has been one of my favorite restaurants while at the UMN. Incredibly delicious food and very vegetarian/vegan friendly menu!!
Ordered delivery of the sweet and sour stir fry...chicken was cold and hard... had no flavor, and came with a few chopped onions & green bell peppers. Not what anyone would expect for stir fry... gross! Wish you could see the picture.
BEST cream cheese wontons, great date spot!!
The vegan menu is amazing! The food soooooo good. Very friendly and delicious place
A bit costly but tasty. love the elderly couple who runs it
Camdi is our go-to place for a good bowl of pho or bun bo hue on a rainy or snowy day. The owners-a husband and wife team-are thoughtful, attentive, and very friendly. Camdi herself can be seen in the back, while her artwork can be seen on the walls. They also sell greeting cards with her art on them.Any of the noodle soups are fantastic, and they sell my favorite Vietnamese-style spring rolls in the city.
My favorite resturant! I love the hot beef noodle soop with fried eggs! Friendly owner and cozy environment!
Spring rolls are awesome. Pho is one of the best and most authentic tasting. This is not your typical dinkytown place with college staff and cheap beer specials. For that reason, the crowds stay out. My wife and I make occasional and special trips here for the spring rolls
I ordered through a delivery service. Considering new COVID restaurant hours, I placed my order late. The food came earlier than expected. I ordered vegan food. I was surprised as they had a large selection of Vegan options. The food came and it was fresh, hot, crispy and full of flavor. I will be ordering again and hope to dine in soon too. Great job Camdi!
Worst place ever!!!...Ordered spring rolls and beef pho...took 1/2hr for my spring rolls to arrive....and one of them had a piece of hair wrapped along with the roll...waited another 40min-1hr fir jy beef pho which was very plain for the price!!!...plenty of other authentic Pho spots that are cheaper and better service than this place....PSA...DO NOT DINE HERE!!
We've been coming here for 7 years. It is great food every time. Love love love this place.
Hands down the best sesame chicken in the world. The flavors and spice make the dish something truly special. I have never been able to find anything even remotely close. The restaurant owners are caring and friendly. This is a great place!
Not sure what happened to this restaurant. I used to go there in college but last night’s experience will be my last visit. We had 1 hour before a Gophers game to eat. We got a table for four and it took over 10 minutes to get water and to be acknowledged. It was not overly busy with several open tables. When the waiter finally showed up we ordered some basic meals. After another 30 minutes I asked the waiter how much longer it would take for the food. I was concerned because people at other tables just got up and left without food and at this point we had on 20 minutes left before the game. The waiter promised a few minutes for the food. I went back to the register area and saw our ticket was still third in line and the food was not even started. This is now 40 minutes of sitting in the restaurant. We left and ate at Five Guys where we got food in 10 minutes. Never again will I go to Camdi.
Amazing vegan food!
Delicious vegan menu! We spent about $30 on a soda, vegan fried dumpling appetizer (which was was beyond wonderful), and two vegan dishes (which were huge, we wound up bringing almost half home with us). The vegan orange fried tofu was great, but the spice warning is real. Service was friendly too.
very slow they microwave food , place is very dirty and food not good front counter person told me to sit and wait for my food but it was sitting on counter waiting for him to give it to me it was a to go order
Always great food and great service. Ran by a friendly couple. I come here once or twice a week. Awesome to have a separate vegan-friendly menu in addition to the standard menu. The small size does not feel at all cramped, rather quaint, and has beautiful and unique artwork all done by one of the owners who also is one of the chefs. This place never disappoints and is a great Dinkytown spot for lunch between classes or dinner with friends and family.
The service was a bit slow, but the flavor and smell of my food was worth the wait. Amazing kung pao dish!!!
Great vegan menu, I love the yams in sesame sauce, and the owners are so friendly!
Good vegan food
I love this place, if you're there when it's busy or there's a ton of takeout orders, service can be really slow, but I don't mind. Their veggie friendly options make it beyond worth it! The fried banana for dessert is also a must if you have a sweet tooth :)
Friendly mom and pop looking Chinese place. Went when it was very quiet and the whole shop felt a little awkward. Would recommend if you're in the mood for something non-american yet comfortable
This place has been around for ages, run by a friendly couple. Lots of great vegetarian and vegan options. Prices very reasonable for the large serving size. Very cozy feel, hits the spot for lunch every time.
Food was great and the service was awesome. They also have a good amount of vegetarian and vegan options.
Excellent food options for me and my girlfriend. The Jasmin tea was crafted expertly and a lot of their Vegan options are delicious. I intend to return for more in the near future.
I want to support a local business but this place is really expensive for what you get and they take a long time after placing your order(30 minutes tonight). I've been here a few times and have been disappointed so I think tonight is going to be my last. :(
This is one of my favorite places to enjoy a taste of Vietnamese cuisine within the twin cities. It is one of the original great eats on campus, and pricing reflects location. A solid meal that could garner you some leftovers will set you back less than $15, and the quality is amazingMy favorite dish is their Hot and Spicy chicken, which has a great savory sauce leaving you to want more. If you are like me and can’t eat fish sauce, any of their dishes can me made without it, using a vegetarian equivalent (made here in house) that is extremely savory. One of their owners, Camdi herself is also a gifted artist that has many of her works featured (and for sale) within this establishment. On that note, the two owners are hear nearly 7 days a week, and they have a true and authentic menu to enjoy.
General Tso chicken was gross it had no sauce leaving it dry and with no flavor. The chicken was over cooked. I haven’t had food this terrible enough to give someone a bad review but I feel completely ripped off.
I ordered from here for the first time for delivery with Bite Squad. I am sorry to say I was .disappointed. The Pad Thai was dry and flavorless and the wontons and egg rolls were deep-fried in old oil. They tasted old ,did not look fresh at all. I felt it was very pricey for the quality and quantity of food. Won't order again.
Better than the Chinese place across the street but still just okay. Pho is good, better than other dishes.
One of my go to spots for take-out. Super friendly people and delicious food! They also have a lot of variation in food and all decent sized portions.
Phenomenal and quality food at a great price. Very authentic and the owners are great people! I recommend General Tso’s chicken or sesame chicken.
I love the owners and the sesame tofu is to die for. Sometimes there are long waits, but all worth it for me!!!
Everything here is great, but their egg rolls and pho are standouts! Good service.
Small Asian restaurant. Friendly place for a quick meal.
Got the vegan dumplings steamed and they were very good
I know the owners for several years and for me, they are like friends and family, remember what I like, asking about how’s going with my life.I do love them very much.
Camdi has some of the best Asian food around. From Thai to Chinese, they do everything PERFECTLY. The nicest, sweetest owners who truly care about their customers. Please consider supporting them during this time!
Got Mopu tofu, the tofu was cold, straight from the kitchen, the mushrooms weren't even cooked! The General Tsao chicken, which shouldn't have bone, had a bone my boyfriend choked on. The service was really slow and there was only 2 people in the restaurant. Btw, sign outside said their was bahnmi, there's none on the menu. Food was gross.
probably the best vegan pho in Minneapolis. huge menu otherwise comprised of Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese classics. popular with the exchange student crowd
Great place, probably my favorite place to eat on campus. My favorites are the hot and spicy chicken wings, and the beef pho. Super good :)
